A little about me:
Dallas Martinez is a passionate theater artist, educator, and director with over 25 years of experience in the visual and performing arts. Currently serving as the Artistic Producing Director of Theatre and Assistant Professor of Musical Direction at Arkansas State University, Along with his teaching responsibilities, Dallas is also the Co-Chiar of Theatre and the Director of Fowler Center at A-State. Dallas, is committed to fostering creativity and innovation in theater education and production.

Dallas holds a Master of Fine Arts in Theatre Direction with an emphasis on Musical Theatre Direction from Florida State University, a Master of Science in Theatre History, Theory, and Criticism from Illinois State University, a Bachelor of Arts in Theatre Performance from West Texas A&M University, and an Associate Degree in Theatre Performance from Western Texas College. These achievements reflect their dedication to mastering theater's scholarly and practical aspects.

Before joining Arkansas State University, Dallas spent 15 years at Eastern New Mexico University-Roswell, where they founded and served as Artistic Director of Neverland Theatre Company. Their professional journey also includes participating in the prestigious Kennedy Center Directing Intensive Program, shaping a directing style emphasizing kinetic theatre, blending dynamic movement, energy, and visual storytelling to create powerful and meaningful stage experiences.

Dallas’s directorial work spans various productions, from contemporary musicals to classic plays, including recent highlights such as Bright Star and Noises Off. With a focus on collaboration, Dallas integrates innovative design elements, authentic storytelling, and an unwavering dedication to the craft, inspiring audiences and students alike.

As an educator and mentor, Dallas strives to cultivate a supportive and challenging environment where students can explore their creative voices and hone their craft. Whether in the classroom, rehearsal space or on stage, Dallas’s work ignites a love for theater and storytelling in all who encounter it.

When not at work, which is rare, Dallas is a dog father to two amazing Bernese mountain dogs: Bucky (4 years old) and Sam (1 year old). Dallas loves movies; all things pop culture, and comics.
